Finnish Aviation Union to strike on Sunday

The Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) announced late Saturday that it will stage a strike to support the walkout at the budget airline Norwegian on Sunday.

According to information received by Finnish national broadcaster Yle, the strike will take place from 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, and it is expected to affect ground-based services such as baggage handling and customer service.

IAU said that the work stoppage will lead to cancellation of all Norwegian flights outbound from Helsinki on Sunday.

The airline has some 20 flights that is scheduled to take off from Helsinki on Sunday, according to Norwegian's website.
